Porto Liscia

87 hectares of colors and scents

Porto Liscia is the name given to part of the Porto Pollo beach that stretches from the peninsula called La Coluccia to the mouth of the Liscia River, where the territory of Santa Teresa di Gallura officially finishes.
The bay is exposed to the north and the Mistral wind that blows here delights surfers, windsurfers and kite-surfers who flock here in their thousands each year to have fun on the waves of La Coluccia, thanks also to a number of events organized by the local nautical club.

The beach affords great views over the Strait of Bonifacio and the island of Spargi.
The granitic sand is golden and medium to fine.
The seabed is sandy and shelves steeply.
The car park is free but the dirt road to get to the beach is long (6km) and winding, although it is generally easy to drive along.
The beach has a large kiosk, where kite-surfers have a kind of general headquarters.

Behind the beach is the La Sciumara pond, a habitat of great natural beauty which boasts the presence of tamarisks and rushes and teems with birdlife such as with moorhens, coots, gulls, cormorants, herons and flamingos. The area was therefore designated in 1994 as the Coluccia Permanent Protected Fauna Oasis.
